CSM SERVICE BODIES PRODUCT WARRANTY & CONSUMER GUARANTEES

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality, and the failure does not amount to major failure.

New Service Body Warranty Statement

Each CSM Manufactured Product is warranted by CSM Service Bodies to be free of structural defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty period is;

  1. 3 years/100,000km whilst in legal possession of the original owner. The warranty is transferable on the condition that the CSM product remains on the original chassis

CSM Service Bodies warrants to the Owner that it will during the CSM Service Body Warranty Period, at its option, repair, replace or adjust free of charge at the premises of the Underwood Fitting Centre any part of the Service Body only which it finds to be defective in factory materials or workmanship under normal use and operation within Australia provided that:

  • the Service Body has not become defective as a result or consequence of the Owners failure:
    • to properly maintain, use or operate the Service Body in accordance with the recommendations and instructions, and the capacity limitations, specified for the Service Body;
    • to have the Service Body properly, regularly, and punctually maintained in accordance with the Product Care Information located on the Service Body itself.

Ancillary items/accessories, such as inverters, lights, refrigerators, and other accessories are warranted as per the warranty terms and conditions of the original equipment supplier.

This warranty is in addition to the other rights and remedies of a consumer under the law in relation to the goods and services to which the warranty relates.

CSMs goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the product, the customer is entitled:

  • to cancel the customers service contract with CSM Service Bodies, and;
  • to a refund for the unused portion of the service contract, or to compensation for its reduced value.
  • The customer is also entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods. If a failure with the goods or service does not amount to a major failure, the customer is entitled to have the failure rectified in a reasonable time. If this is not done, the customer is entitled to a refund for the goods and to cancel the service contract and obtain a refund of any unused portion. The customer is also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure in the goods or service.

Warranty Explanation

The following questions and answers are intended to assist you in understanding the CSM Service Bodies Warranty provided with the CSM Manufactured product.

  1. Who can obtain CSM Warranty Claim?
    1. The owner of the CSM product which still remains on the original chassis and inside the 2 warranty options:
  2. 3 years/100,000km whilst in legal possession of the original owner. The warranty is transferable on the condition that the CSM product remains on the original chassis.
  3. Process for Claiming Warranty?
    1. Any items considered to be defective or incorrect should be returned to an Authorised CSM Service Centre for inspection within 14 days of receipt
    1. All claims must be accompanied by the body identification number located on the product or the sales order number under which the product was originally purchased
  4. What happens in the event of a repair or replacement?
    1. Where any failure occurs that is not a major failure pursuant to the Australian Consumer Law contained in Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), this warranty covers only the cost of repair or replacement of the product or part thereof, the decision of which remains solely at the discretion of CSM Service Bodies. Goods presented for repair may be replaced by refurbished goods of the same type rather than be repaired. Refurbished parts may be used to repair the goods.
    1. The warranty does not cover the cost of removal, installation or any transport.
    1. Further, damage or defects caused by collision, alteration, improper installation, road hazards, adverse conditions or usage of any other purpose other than normal business usage are not covered by this warranty. This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties expressed or implied but does not exclude the guarantees available to consumers pursuant to the Australian Consumer Law located in Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) for eligible customers.
  5. When will the CSM Product Warranty not apply?
    1. The CSM Product Warranty will not apply, unless the CSM Manufactured Product is alleged to be defective is found by CSM to be defective in factory materials or workmanship under normal and proper use and operation within Australia. Accordingly, the CSM Product Warranty will not apply if the failure of the CSM Manufactured Product in which your claim relates is caused by or is attributed to:
      1. Misuse of the CSM Manufactured Product
      1. Failure to properly maintain the CSM Manufactured Product
      1. Exceeding the operating or capacity limitations specified for the CSM Manufactured Product in use and operation
  6. Note regarding non-genuine parts and accessories
    1. Technical alterations to the original state of your Service Body can affect safety and performance. Such technical alterations include by are not limited to the use of unsuitable parts, fittings, attachments, decals, body wraps and accessories.
    1. CSM Service Bodies assumes no responsibility for death, injury or expenses that may result from the installation of add-on non-genuine parts or accessories
  7. Can the CSM Product Warranty be transferred to subsequent owners?
    1. Yes, only if the Service Body remains on the original chassis matching the sales order number.
  8. What is my responsibility with respect to the CSM Service Body/ CSM Manufactured Products?
    1. It is your responsibility to maintain, use and operate the CSM Manufactured Product in a proper manner within CSM’s specified capacity and operating limitations, and to ensure that during the CSM Product Warranty periods, you comply to the recommended Product Care Guide provided to you with the CSM Manufactured Product.

Maintenance Checks

1,500km Maintenance Checks:
– Inspect chassis mount bolts for movement from marked pen lines. Check overall tightness and security of the bolts.
– Conduct a light test to ensure all tail lights are working, including the number plate light.
– Inspect underbody writing for security and confirm operational functionality of all electrical equipment.

10,000km Maintenance Checks:
– Inspect chassis mount bolts for movement from marked pen lines. Check overall tightness and security of the bolts.
– Inspect underbody wiring for security and confirm operational functionality of all electrical equipment.
– Lubricate door lock on service body and any underbody accessories. Remove the rear access panel and use a spray lubricant.
– Inspect roof accessories for movement.
– Inspect underbody accessories including mudguards to ensure bolts are tight.

Yearly Maintenance Checks:
– Inspect chassis mount bolts for movement from marked pen lines. Check overall tightness and security of the bolts.
– Inspect underbody wiring for security and confirm operational functionality of all electrical equipment.
– Lubricate door lock on service body and any underbody accessories. Remove the rear access panel and use a spray lubricant.
– Inspect roof accessories for movement.
– Inspect underbody accessories including mudguards to ensure bolts are tight.
